Care + Use

Using a wet brush, cloth, or sponge, rub Solid Dish Soap to build up lather. Don't push too hard, so you can wear the surface of the bar evenly. Wash dishes as usual, and rinse thoroughly in hot water.

To get the best out of your soap, flip it every now and then, and always allow the bar to dry thoroughly between uses. We recommend using a soap dish with excellent drainage and airflow on all sides of the bar.

My dishes feel so clean after using this dish soap and I absolutely love the smell.
It’s amazing to know I’m not using any harmful chemicals and additives on my dishes/cookware and they’re coming out squeaky clean! So happy to have found y’all on instagram and I definitely will continue to support your business!

This is THE BEST dish soap out there. I’m more of a citrus scent person, but after trying both, I gotta say I’m hooked on this lavender. I am super sensitive to scents and my skin is really fragile. I don’t even need to wear gloves to do dishes with this soap!

Amazing!! Love love love!

I am so happy with my products I ordered! The soap removed grease far much better than I had anticipated. Smells wonderful too! Also the deodorant I ordered is the best I have used and that citrus scent is wonderful!

A sceptic's musings

Pros
-plastic free, no weird ingredients, totally septic safe
- nice smell
- great lather (lots of bubbles very nice experience)
- no residue (seriously!)
- nice to hands. I've noticedy hands are much less dry when using this soap vs dawn
- gets dishes clean! (Even greasy things like animal fat and tomato sauce)
- you need very little on your brush/sponge

Cons
-$$
-takes a while to ship
-needs a special soap dish

Unknowns
- how long it lasts

I have always loved the ideas of plastic free and eco-friendly soap, but have been frequently dismayed at the performance. I do not have a dishwasher and I'm picky about my dish washing. This soap was completely comparable to dawn, which is the only soap I've used for years. I tested it on burnt pans, oily foods, sticky labels, glass, ceramic, wood and am 100% satisfied. Will be ordering again.

Frequently Asked Questions

about solid dish soap

Is it nut-free?

Yes! We use Soapnut powder (a natural detergent) to create the beautiful speckles, but Soapnuts are actually a berry. They're in the Lychee family, and fully safe for anyone with a nut allergy.

Is it coconut-free?

Unfortunately, we aren't able to make a coconut-free Solid Dish Soap. Coconut oil is a vital ingredients for creating a long-lasting soap with high cleansing properties and great lather. Our apologies! We wish we had a coconut-free option for you.

Can you make a sink full of sudsy water with it?

Yes! Simply stop up your sink, and run warm/hot water as usual. Hold a side of the soap under the faucet, and build up a lather using your hand or a brush. The bubbles will flow into the water and give you all the suds you need.

Does it leave a weird residue on everything?

We worked really hard to formulate our solid dish soap in such a way that it doesn't leave a strange film on all your dishes! If you have hard water like we do, you know that even plain water can leave spots on your glassware. If there's anything we want to be totally spotless, we rinse in super hot water and dry promptly.

How does it compare to Dawn for cutting grease?

In our side-by-side comparisons, we've found our Solid Dish Soap to be completely on-par with Dawn in terms of grease cutting. But if you need the convenience of a squeeze bottle, liquid soap can still be your go-to! We like to keep both on hand for different applications.

Will it dry out my hands?

No! This was one of the most important factors for us when developing Solid Dish Soap. We both have extremely sensitive skin (Hyper-mobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome makes our skin super fragile), and only a small countertop dishwasher. We spend a lot of time handwashing at the sink, and our soap is very friendly to easily-irritated skin. We attribute that to our specific blend of oils!

Does it work for hard water?

Yep! We have very hard water as well.

Is it septic safe?

You betcha! We're on a septic system too.
